At the invitation of the President of the Vietnam National Coal – Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin), on the morning of August 4, the senior delegation of Marubeni Corporation headed by Mr. Mamoru Sekiyma - Vice President, Member of Board of Management paid a working visit to Vinacomin. The delegation was warmly received by President and CEO Le Minh Chuan.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Chuan reported the general situation of production and trading of Vinacomin in recent years and the development for the following years. Currently, Vinacomin produces and trades not only coal but also various products such as minerals, electricity ... This year, Vinacomin plans to exploit 44 million tons of clean coal, which number will increase to 55 million by 2015. To achieve the output above, in 2015, Vinacomin will need about $ 1 billion for investment in production.
Mr. Mamoru Sekiyma highly appreciated the achievements of Vinacomin in recent years. He hoped that with the good results of cooperation which two parties have reached, in the future, Marubeni and Vinacomin will become the long-term strategic partners of each other. He was particularly interested in two bauxite mining project in Lam Dong and Dac Nong, and also promised to try to provide Vinacomin each year from 1 to 2 million tons of coal from Australia or Indonesia.
