On the morning of Aug 3, 2012, at Vinacomin headquarters, President and CEO Le Minh Chuan received and worked with the delegation of Marubeni. This is the second time the delegation leaded by Mr. Mamoru Sekiyma - Deputy CEO, member of Marubeni Group’s BoM visited and worked with Vinacomin.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Minh Chuan announced the business-production situation of Vinacomin in the first 6 months of 2012 - the most difficult year of Vinacomin in the latest 10 years due to the profound impact of the world and domestic economic downturn. However, Vinacomin’s staff and workers are trying best to overcome immediate difficulties and focus for the sustainable development strategy of the Group in the future. As one of the three pillars ensuring national energy security, Vinacomin not only undertakes the tasks of cold production and business, but also products and trades minerals, electricity, chemicals, mechanics. They are the areas in which Marubeni interests, and hopes to cooperate with Vinacomin.

Mr. Mamoru Sekiyma shared difficulties and highly appreciated results that Vinacomin achieved. He also expressed hope that, with traditional good cooperation over the past 20 years, in the future, Marubeni and Vinacomin will continue to be the long-term strategic partners of each other. As a multidisciplinary commercial group, Marubeni desired Vinacomin will create good conditions to Marubeni expanding its business sector in Vietnam.
